The You+Me=Community Festival was a great success. Between 300 and 400 people enjoyed the day with 70 people particiating in the You+Me Challenge. Overall people who came enjoyed themselves with the You+Me Challenge as a populair way of entertainment. When asked if the Festival has changed your view on disability, one quote stood out: “On the way home from the festival my daughter commented that she didn’t really want to go to the festival, and that she didn’t really understood what You+Me=Community meant, “but now we’ve been I know it means everybody can do everything together and people with disabilities don’t need to be separate, we are all one community. And it was so much fun and one of the best days ever!” That, to us, was exactly what we were trying to achieve. Thank you to all people who helped to make this day a success!
The Festival was made possible with a generous donation from Caltex National Distributer Association. Many other organisations are supporting the festival, like Futago (all designs), Willie Smith’s, Harcourts and Bendigo Bank.
